The Schneider Electric C080N450FM is a 4-pole ComPacT NS800N moulded case circuit breaker rated 800 A, with a 50 kA breaking capacity (Icu) at 380/415 V AC. It is fitted with a MicroLogic 5.0 trip unit delivering long-time overload, short-time delay and instantaneous short-circuit protection (LSI), is fixed-mounted and manually operated, and carries a 690 V rated operational voltage for industrial distribution switchboards.

Selection Notes

Its LSI trip unit adds an adjustable short-time delay (Isd, tsd) on top of the long-time overload and instantaneous stages, which lets it hold a short-time withstand for selective coordination with downstream breakers instead of tripping instantaneously on every fault. The N-frame rating gives it 50 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC, the standard distribution class for this amperage; step up to an H-frame sibling at the same 800 A when the prospective fault current at the installation point exceeds this breaker's Icu. The 4-pole version adds a switched or protected neutral, which is the variant to specify on a TT or IT system where the neutral itself needs disconnection or protection.
