Schneider Electric BMXPRA0100 Modicon X80 Remote I/O Adaptor EtherNet/IP Remote I/O Module

The Schneider Electric BMXPRA0100 is a Modicon X80 peripheral remote I/O adaptor that links up to 1024 discrete and 256 analog I/O points to a host controller over EtherNet/IP device network with Modbus TCP. It carries 448 kB internal plus 96 kB removable memory, an integrated real-time clock, and runs on 95 mA with 2.3 W dissipation for medium-to-large distributed I/O applications.

Selection Notes

BMXPRA0100 is the EtherNet/IP gateway for extending Modicon X80 I/O beyond the local backplane, so it is selected whenever the application needs to place discrete or analog modules on a remote rack reached over EtherNet/IP rather than a CANopen or Modbus serial network. Its -25 degrees C to +70 degrees C extended temperature rating and ATEX Zone 2/22 / IECEx Zone 2/22 certification make it suitable for hazardous-area or outdoor cabinets that standard IP20 backplane modules are not rated for. The 1024 discrete / 256 analog I/O ceiling and 2-Ethernet-module capacity size the maximum remote I/O station that a single adaptor can support.
