- Description
The Schneider Electric BMXDDI1602 is a Modicon X80 discrete input module with 16 isolated 24 V DC inputs in positive (sink) logic, conforming to IEC 60947-5-2. Each input draws 3.5 mA at 24 V DC, responds within 4 ms typical / 7 ms maximum, and supports hot swapping so a channel can be replaced without stopping the process.

Selection Notes
The BMXDDI1602 reads 16 isolated 24 V DC sink-logic inputs with reverse-polarity protection on each channel, so a miswired field connection does not damage the module. Hot-swap fallback support lets the module be pulled and replaced without dropping the rest of the rack's I/O, a detail that matters on a running process line. Its 4 ms typical response time suits standard sensor and pushbutton wiring; choose a dedicated high-speed counter module instead for pulse trains above a few hundred Hz.
