- Description
The Schneider Electric BMXART0814 is a Modicon X80 analog input module with 8 isolated, low-level channels for RTD and thermocouple temperature sensors, at 15-bit + sign resolution. It supports Cu10, Ni100, Ni1000, Pt100, and Pt1000 RTDs plus B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U thermocouples, with external cold-junction compensation.

Selection Notes
Choose the BMXART0814 over the 4-channel RTD/thermocouple card when a temperature-monitoring station needs 8 channels in one slot rather than 4 — resolution and sensor-type support (Cu10, Ni100, Ni1000, Pt100, Pt1000 RTDs; B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U thermocouples) stay the same, but MTBF drops from 1,400,000 h at 4 channels to 900,000 h at 8, and current draw rises to 50 mA at 24 V DC. Each channel still carries its own cold-junction compensation via an external Pt100 probe, so mixing sensor types across channels on the same module is supported. The 40-way, 2-connector wiring layout keeps the 8 channels on the same physical footprint style as the 4-channel card, simplifying panel design when both module sizes appear across a project.
