The ATV310HD18N4E carries two nameplate ratings on the same frame: 18.5 kW heavy duty with a 58.5 A 60 s transient current for constant-torque loads that need overload margin at start, and 22 kW normal duty with a lower 47.3 A transient margin for variable-torque loads that rarely overload. Pick the heavy duty rating when the driven machine needs the 170-200% transient overtorque headroom; pick the normal duty rating to run the larger 22 kW motor on the same drive frame when the load itself has less starting demand. This variant ships without an integrated EMC filter; add an external filter if the installation needs Class C3 conducted-emission compliance, or choose the EF-suffix sibling that has one built in. The 22 kA heavy duty short-circuit withstand sets the upstream protective device coordination.
