- Description
The Siemens 6GT2811-7AD20-0AA0 is a SIMATIC RF690R ETSI UHF RFID reader built for high-throughput goods-flow tracking, with four external antenna ports, Ethernet with PoE, an OPC UA server and an IP33 housing, covering the 865 to 868 MHz band. It runs from 24 V DC drawing up to 2 A, and reaches a 640 kbit/s radio transfer rate for fast tunnel and dock-door reads.

Selection Notes
The RF690R's 640 kbit/s radio transfer rate and 2000 mW per-antenna output exceed the PROFINET-family readers, which top out at 400 kbit/s, making it the fit for high-speed conveyor or dock-door reads with many tags passing at once. It only exposes Ethernet, OPC UA and XML rather than PROFINET, so pick it for IT-side integration; where a PROFINET PLC needs direct cyclic I/O to the reader, the PROFINET-capable readers in the family are the better match.
