The 8 AC inputs read 120/230 V AC field devices directly, so this card avoids interposing relays where limit switches or pushbuttons already run on line voltage. On the output side, the 8 relay channels switch either AC (5-250 V AC) or DC (5-30 V DC) loads on the same card, unlike a transistor output module limited to one voltage type, which suits panels mixing AC contactors with DC indicators. Output short-circuit protection is not built in and must be provided externally, which matters when sizing upstream fusing for the relay outputs.
