- Description
The Siemens LOGO! DM8 230R (6ED1055-1FB00-0BA2) is a 2-module-wide digital expansion unit for the LOGO! 8 logic module family, adding 4 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs on a 115/230 V AC/DC supply. Each relay output switches up to 5 A resistive or 3 A inductive load, and the module mounts directly on the same DIN rail run as the base unit.

Selection Notes
The DM8 230R's relay outputs, rated 5 A resistive and 3 A inductive, switch small motors, solenoids, and contactor coils directly, unlike transistor-output expansion modules that need an external relay for anything beyond a few hundred milliamps. Its 2-module width keeps the DIN rail footprint small when only 4 extra I/O points are needed.
Applications
Used to extend LOGO! 8 base units in machine control, lighting, and building automation panels where a handful of additional relay-switched outputs are needed without stepping up to a full PLC I/O rack.
