The Siemens 6GK5324-4QG10-3AR2 SCALANCE XR324-4M PoE is a managed Layer 2 Industrial Ethernet switch for 19-inch rack mounting, with 16 electrical 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45 ports (8 of them PoE-capable) plus four slots for 2-port media modules, all accessed from the front. It runs from a 230 V AC (85 ... 264 V) supply and supports MRP/HRP ring redundancy with a redundancy manager, meeting PROFINET conformity class B.

Selection Notes

The 230 V AC (85 ... 264 V) supply removes the need for a separate 24 V DC feed to the rack, drawing a maximum of 1 A at rated voltage and carrying a wider -40 ... +70 °C ambient rating than the DC-supplied sibling's -40 ... +60 °C. This front-port, AC-supplied build also lists cULus and RINA marine classification, which the DC-supplied siblings in this family do not carry. Choose the DC-supplied siblings instead where the cabinet already runs a 24 V bus.

Applications

Machine or process-cell aggregation switch feeding PoE-powered cameras or WLAN access points alongside conventional Gigabit Ethernet devices, in mains-fed cabinets including marine and offshore installations covered by the RINA classification.
