IEC 62443-4-2 certification and full management - CLI, web-based configuration, SNMPv3, RADIUS/802.1x - separate the XB216 from the unmanaged XC-series switches, so choose it wherever the segment needs port-based VLANs, RSTP/MRP ring redundancy, or SNMP-based network monitoring. PROFINET conformity class B with network load class III diagnostic reporting integrates the switch as a manageable network component in TIA Portal projects rather than a passive Ethernet distributor. Its 0 to +60C operating range is narrower than the compact XC-series' -40 to +70C, so an XC or XM unit fits unheated cabinets or outdoor enclosures better.
