- Description
The Siemens 6EP4683-6LB00-0AY0 is a LOGO! ICL230 inrush current limiter for single-phase 100-240V AC supplies, passing up to 5A continuous while actively limiting inrush current to 10A for 60ms at power-up. It mounts on a DIN rail ahead of downstream power supplies to prevent nuisance tripping of upstream circuit breakers when multiple units switch on together.

Selection Notes
The ICL230's 5A-rated output means it protects one downstream supply or a small group of supplies whose combined inrush would otherwise trip an upstream breaker on power-up - typical when several SITOP or LOGO! power supplies switch on together from the same feed. Its non-reversible thermal fuse means a sustained overload takes the unit out of service rather than resetting, so it belongs upstream of loads that are not expected to fault repeatedly. Because it passes through the same 100-240V AC voltage it limits, it adds inrush protection without acting as a step-down converter.
Applications
Placed between the mains feed and one or more 24V DC power supplies in a cabinet, it holds the combined inrush current under 10A for the first 60ms so the upstream circuit breaker does not see a nuisance trip when the cabinet is energized.
