Selection Notes

The 4 kW/3 kW LO/HO split follows Siemens' dual-rating convention: use the 4 kW low-overload figure for continuous, steady loads such as pumps and fans, and the 3 kW high-overload figure when the application needs 200% torque for 3 s starting transients such as conveyors or positioning axes. The built-in braking chopper removes the need for a separate braking module wherever the drive needs dynamic braking, such as vertical axes or fast decelerations. Frame size FSB and IP20 protection mean it is a power stage for cabinet mounting only - a G120 control unit is still required to run it.

Applications

Used in modular SINAMICS G120 drive assemblies for pumps, fans, conveyors, and mixers in the 3-5 kW range where the built-in braking chopper handles occasional dynamic braking.
