The Schneider Electric ATV630D55N4 is an Altivar Process ATV630 variable frequency drive rated for 55 kW motors in normal duty (45 kW heavy duty) on a 380-480 V three-phase supply. Its continuous output current is 106 A in normal duty (88 A heavy duty), housed in an IP21 / UL Type 1 enclosure. Built-in Modbus TCP and Modbus serial ports plus an integrated STO (SIL 3) safety function are standard.

Selection Notes

The ATV630D55N4 covers motors up to 55 kW in normal duty (120% overload) or 45 kW where the application needs the 150% heavy-duty overload margin, such as positive-displacement pumps or screw compressors. Its 106 A continuous output current sets the ceiling for constant-torque loads; for variable-torque loads like centrifugal fans the same frame can drive a larger motor within the heavy-duty current limit. The integrated STO function allows a safety circuit to be wired directly into the drive without an external contactor.

Applications

The ATV630 targets fluid-handling and utility processes – water and wastewater pumps, HVAC fans and compressors, and oil and gas transfer pumps – where its built-in PID regulator and 'Stop and Go' standby mode reduce energy use during idle periods.
