- Description
The Siemens 6GT2811-6CA10-0AA0 is a SIMATIC RF685R ETSI UHF RFID reader combining one integrated antenna with one external antenna port, PROFINET/Ethernet/OPC UA connectivity and an IP65 housing, covering the 865 to 868 MHz band. It runs from 24 V DC, switches four digital inputs and four digital outputs directly, and its onboard OPC UA server lets it publish tag data without a separate gateway.

Selection Notes
The built-in antenna covers a fixed read zone directly in front of the housing, while the one external port lets a single reader also cover a second angle or a longer stand-off distance without a second reader chassis, unlike a purely integrated-antenna reader in the family. The four digital inputs and outputs allow direct interlocking with a light stack or a gate actuator on a per-tag-event basis, without first routing the signal through a PLC.
