How to choose

• DC voltage: 1000 V, 1500 V and 2000 V DC systems each need a fuse rated for that voltage.
• Time constant: the L/R value of the circuit affects arc clearing, so check it against the DC breaking capacity.
• Class: gPV for solar strings, gBat or aBat for battery systems.
• Current: size for string or module current with temperature derating.
• Format: NH sizes, 22x85 mm solar links or bolted bodies, to suit the fuse holder.

FAQ

Why can't I use an AC fuse on a solar string?

DC arcs have no current zero crossing, so AC fuses may fail to clear. Use a fuse with a stated DC voltage rating, such as gPV.

What does gPV mean?

gPV is the full-range fuse class for photovoltaic systems under IEC 60269-6. It protects PV strings against overload and fault current.
