- Description
The Siemens 6EP4297-8HB10-0XY0 is a SITOP BUF8600 buffer module that plugs into a SITOP PSU8600 power supply and uses maintenance-free electrolytic capacitors to hold a 40 A load for 300 ms during a mains interruption. It recharges in about 60 seconds at 400 V and reports buffer status over Ethernet/PROFINET through the PSU8600, sitting between the shortest and longest bridging times in the buffer-module line.

Selection Notes
Triple the bridging time of the fastest electrolytic-capacitor module in this line costs a 60-second recharge instead of a 20-second one and a larger 125 x 125 x 150 mm enclosure, so it fits equipment that needs more margin against a longer sag but does not justify the recharge delay of a double-layer capacitor module rated in seconds. Pick it for control loads where a 100 ms bridge is occasionally too short but a multi-second double-layer capacitor buffer is more capacity than the load actually needs.
