- Description
The Siemens 6EP4297-8HB00-0XY0 is a SITOP BUF8600 buffer module that plugs into a SITOP PSU8600 power supply and uses maintenance-free electrolytic capacitors to hold a 40 A load for 100 ms during a mains interruption. It recharges in about 20 seconds at 400 V and reports buffer status over Ethernet/PROFINET through the PSU8600, giving the shortest, fastest-cycling bridge in the buffer-module line.

Selection Notes
At 4,505,531 hours the MTBF on this module is well above the other BUF8600 buffer durations covered in this line, consistent with electrolytic capacitors doing less work per cycle than the longer-duration double-layer capacitor versions. A 20-second recharge at 400 V means it is ready again almost immediately after a dip, which fits equipment that sees frequent short line disturbances rather than a single sustained outage. Use it to ride through switching transients and brief sags on a PSU8600 rack, not as a substitute for a battery-backed UPS module.
