- Description
The Siemens 6EP1964-2BA00 is a SITOP PSE202U redundancy module that decouples two parallel 24 V DC power supplies, each contributing up to 5 A, into a single 10 A output at 24 V DC. A relay contact reports whether both input voltages are above the adjustable 20-25 V switching threshold, so a single supply failure is signaled without an output interruption.

Selection Notes
Each of the two decoupled inputs can supply up to 5 A, and the module sums them into a 10 A output - spec two SITOP power supplies at 5 A or more each if the load draws the full 10 A, since the module itself adds no power, it only decouples and signals. The relay contact closes only when both input voltages sit above the adjustable 20-25 V threshold, so a drop on either supply flips the contact before the output itself sags, giving the PLC an early warning ahead of an actual outage. At 97.1% efficiency and a 3,273,000 h MTBF, the module's own failure rate is small next to the redundancy benefit it adds to two paralleled supplies.
Applications
Combines two independent 24 V DC power supplies into one redundant 24 V/10 A bus for PLCs, drives, and I/O racks where a single supply failure must not interrupt the load - common in continuous-process or safety-relevant cabinets already running N+1 power.
