- Description
The Siemens 6EP3234-0TA00-0AY0 is a SITOP PSU3400 DC/DC converter that steps a 48 V DC input (28-60 V) down to a stabilized, galvanically isolated 24 V DC output at up to 10 A, adjustable from 24 to 28 V via potentiometer. It runs at 93.5% efficiency, buffers a 5 ms minimum input dip at rated output, and signals output status through a relay contact.

Selection Notes
This is the 48 V-in tap of the PSU3400 family, built for cabinets that already distribute 48 V DC and need a derived 24 V rail - pick it over the 24 V-input PSU3400 variants whenever the source bus is 48 V rather than 24 V, since the two input ranges do not overlap (28-60 V here vs 14-32 V on the 24 V-input models). Output behavior mirrors the 24 V-input, 24 V-output variant - 10 A rated, up to 12.5 A short-term, adjustable 24-28 V - so the choice between them is purely which DC bus voltage feeds the cabinet. At 5.4 A input current for a 256 W typical output, the 48 V feeder circuit carries roughly half the current the equivalent 24 V-input converter would draw for the same output power.
Applications
Derives an isolated 24 V DC control rail from a 48 V DC distribution bus, typical in telecom-style or battery-backed 48 V cabinets that also host 24 V PLC, HMI, or sensor loads.
