Selection Notes
The 38 A AC-3 rating supports direct-on-line starting of motors up to 18.5 kW at 400 V AC, a step up from the lower-current members of this frame while sharing the same 85 x 56 x 99 mm housing. The single NC auxiliary contact provides one spare normally-closed signal, suited to an interlock or fault-monitoring circuit that must open when the contactor picks up, rather than a running indication. A 24 V DC coil keeps the control circuit on low-voltage DC rather than a mains-referenced AC coil. The 310 A / 10 s short-time withstand current gives margin to ride through inrush conditions under coordinated fuse protection (63 A gG, type 1).
