- Description
The Siemens LOGO! DM8 24R (6ED1055-1HB00-0BA2) is a LOGO! 8 expansion module adding 4 AC/DC/NPN digital inputs and 4 relay outputs rated 5 A, in a 2-module-wide DIN-rail housing. It mounts alongside a LOGO! 8 base unit to add I/O points when the base unit's onboard I/O is not enough for the application.

Selection Notes
The DM8 24R's relay outputs switch up to 5 A per point and handle lamp loads to 1000 W, unlike a transistor-output expansion module that switches faster but at lower current - pick this relay variant when driving contactor coils, indicator lamps, or small loads directly from the LOGO! output without an interposing relay. Digital inputs accept AC or DC signals, which simplifies wiring when field sensors on the same panel mix voltage types.
Applications
I/O expansion for relay and lamp control panels, HVAC and lighting control, and simple machine interlocks where LOGO! 8's onboard I/O count falls short. The 2-module width keeps the DIN-rail footprint compact when several expansion modules are stacked next to the base unit.
