Selection Notes

13.5 dB directional gain concentrates RF energy into a 40x35 degree beam, giving longer point-to-point range than the omnidirectional ANT896-4ME or the wider-beam ANT795-6DC sector antenna - pick it for a fixed link between two known mast or wall locations rather than for mobile-node coverage. It covers only the 4.9-5.35 GHz band with no 2.4 GHz support, so it pairs with 5 GHz-only or dual-band SCALANCE W radios configured for that band. The IP66/67 housing and -40 to +80C range allow direct outdoor mast mounting without an additional enclosure.

Applications

Suited to fixed outdoor point-to-point or point-to-multipoint WLAN links - yard cranes, port terminals, or building-to-building bridges - where a directional beam and 5 GHz-only spectrum fit the link budget.
