The Siemens SCALANCE XR526-8 (6GK5534-2TR00-4AR3) is a 19-inch rack, Layer 3 managed Ethernet switch with 24x 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45 ports, 2x combo 1G/2.5G/5G/10G RJ45 ports, and 8x SFP+ ports for 1 or 10 Gbit/s uplinks. Two independent 100-240V AC/DC-rated supplies on IEC C14 inlets give power redundancy alongside the integrated redundancy manager for ring topologies.

Selection Notes

The 4AR3 variant adds a second, independent AC/DC-rated supply input for power redundancy - the option to pick when a single feed failure must not take the backbone switch down. Pick the 3AR3 sibling instead if a single mains feed is acceptable, or 2AR3 for a 24V DC-only bus. With Layer 3 routing (RIPv2, OSPFv2, VRRP) and 8x SFP+ 10 Gbit/s ports, the XR526-8 works as a distribution switch feeding multiple access-layer rings, and dual power inputs pair naturally with dual-fed cabinets.

Applications
