The Siemens 6GK5324-4QG10-1HR2 SCALANCE XR324-4M PoE is a managed Layer 2 Industrial Ethernet switch for 19-inch rack mounting, with 16 electrical 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45 ports (8 of them PoE-capable) plus four slots for 2-port media modules, all accessed from the rear. It runs from a 24 V DC supply and supports MRP/HRP ring redundancy with a redundancy manager, meeting PROFINET conformity class B.

Selection Notes

Rear ports route cabling behind the rack instead of the front, matching cabinets wired from the back; a front-port sibling and AC-supplied siblings cover the other mounting/power combinations in this design. The 24 V DC, 46 W supply and eight PoE-capable ports are unchanged from the front-port variant, so the choice here is purely about cable routing direction.

Applications

Machine or process-cell aggregation switch feeding PoE-powered cameras or WLAN access points alongside conventional Gigabit Ethernet devices, in cabinets wired from behind the rack.
