Pick the ST-port 3BB00 variant over the SC-port 3BD00 sibling to match existing ST (BFOC) fiber terminations already installed in the plant — the electrical specification and management feature set are otherwise identical. Being managed, this switch adds MRP/HRP ring redundancy, VLANs, and PROFINET IO diagnostics that the unmanaged XB004 series lacks, which matters where a ring topology needs sub-300 ms reconfiguration or where SNMP-based network monitoring is required.
