Selection Notes
This unmanaged 12-port variant fits small star or line network expansions where centralized management isn't needed; step up to a managed SCALANCE switch if VLAN, port mirroring, or ring-redundancy protocols are required, since the XB112's verified redundancy feature is PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol), not MRP. The dual 24V supply inputs with independent 0.6A/60V fusing support supply redundancy without an external UPS.
Applications
Fits DIN-rail control cabinets needing a compact 12-port unmanaged switch for star or line Ethernet topologies, including hazardous-location panels given the ATEX, IECEx, UKEX, FM, and CCC-Ex approvals.
