The Siemens SCALANCE XCM108PoE 6GK5108-0PA00-2AC2 is an unmanaged 8-port Fast Ethernet switch for PROFINET Class A networks. All eight RJ45 ports run 10/100 Mbit/s and deliver Power over Ethernet under IEEE 802.3at, up to 30 W per port and 120 W total. Two DC power inputs, rated 24 V and 54 V, both accept a 19.2-55 V range so the switch keeps running if one supply drops out.

This is the Fast Ethernet PoE variant in the XCM108 line, suited to 10/100 Mbit/s edge devices such as PROFINET I/O blocks or IP cameras that don't need a gigabit uplink. The dual 19.2-55 V DC feed means a single supply failure doesn't interrupt the 120 W PoE budget across the eight ports. Pick the Gigabit XCM108PoE version instead when the connected devices or the uplink run above 100 Mbit/s.

Applications

Typical installs power PROFINET-connected IP cameras, RFID readers, or WLAN access points directly from the switch ports, removing the need for separate PoE injectors on each drop. The IP20 rating and -40 to +60 degC range fit cabinet or enclosed-panel mounting rather than open outdoor exposure.
