The Siemens 6GK1503-3CA01 PROFIBUS OLM/P12 V4.1 is an optical link module with one RS 485 interface and two plastic fiber-optic interfaces (4 BFOC sockets) that converts PROFIBUS signals between 9.6 kbit/s and 12 Mbit/s onto plastic FOC for runs up to 80 m. It runs on 24 V DC (18-32 V), includes a signaling contact and measuring output, and supports ring redundancy.

The OLM/P12 doubles the OLM/P11's fiber ports to two independent plastic-FOC links (4 BFOC sockets), so it fits a node that needs two separate ring or line segments to pass through one module rather than one. Reach is unchanged from the P11 at up to 80 m on POF or 400 m on PCF fiber, so the choice between the two comes down to how many fiber branches the topology needs at that node, not distance.
