The Siemens 6GK1503-2CA01 PROFIBUS OLM/P11 V4.1 is an optical link module with one RS 485 interface and one plastic fiber-optic interface (2 BFOC sockets) that converts PROFIBUS signals between 9.6 kbit/s and 12 Mbit/s onto plastic FOC for runs up to 80 m. It runs on 24 V DC (18-32 V), includes a signaling contact and measuring output, and supports ring redundancy.

The 80 m plastic-FOC span on the OLM/P11 fits short, low-EMI runs such as inside a panel or across a machine cell; where the segment needs to cross a plant floor over glass fiber instead, the OLM/G11-1300 reaches up to 15 km on single-mode fiber. Two BFOC sockets let it sit mid-ring for redundancy rather than only at a segment end, and the built-in signaling contact and measuring output feed link-status back to a control system without extra diagnostics hardware.
