The Siemens 6GK5216-0HA00-2ES6 SCALANCE XP216EEC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch with 16 M12-coded ports (12 at 10/100 Mbit/s, 4 at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s) and railway approval to EN 50155 and EN 45545. Rated IP65 and -40 to +70 degC continuous (+85 degC for 10 minutes), it runs PROFINET IO diagnostics at conformity class B with MRP and HRP ring redundancy.

The EEC suffix marks the railway-approved build of the XP216: EN 50155 and EN 45545 compliance and a conformal-coated aluminum enclosure add rolling-stock qualification on top of the same 16-port M12 layout as the standard XP216. Its supply voltage range widens to 16.8...30 V DC for EN 50155 traction supply tolerances, and the -40 degC to +85 degC 10-minute rating covers rail cold-start and thermal-shock test profiles. Pick the standard XP216 instead for stationary industrial or outdoor machine applications that do not need railway type approval.
