Selection Notes

The XC206-2 adds managed Layer 2 functionality - RSTP/MRP/HRP ring redundancy, PRP, VLANs, and PROFINET IO diagnostics - on top of a 6-port RJ45 plus 2-port BFOC multimode fiber layout, so choose it when the segment needs ring topology, redundancy protocols, or SNMP-based diagnostics rather than a plain unmanaged link. It is IEC 62443-4-2 certified, relevant where the network falls under an IEC 62443 component security requirement, and the C-PLUG slot allows swapping a failed switch without reconfiguring it in the field.
