The Siemens 6GK5004-2BD00-1AB2 SCALANCE XB004-2 is an unmanaged Industrial Ethernet switch with four 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports and two 100 Mbit/s multimode fiber ports on SC sockets, powered from a 24 V DC supply. It is built for small star and line topologies where plug-and-play operation is enough and no switch configuration is needed.

The XB004-2's multimode SC fiber ports fit runs up to the standard 100BaseFX multimode distance and cost less than the single-mode XB004-2LD variant, so pick the 2BD00 order number when the fiber segment stays within a building or a single machine line. Being unmanaged, it has no VLAN, redundancy protocol, or diagnostics configuration — use the XB205 managed series instead where ring redundancy (MRP/HRP) or PROFINET IO diagnosis on the switch itself is required.

Applications

Extending a small PROFINET or Industrial Ethernet segment with a short multimode fiber run between machine panels or across a shop floor, in star or line topology.
