This FSC-frame PM240-2 covers the 4.00kW (LO) / 3.00kW (HO) power point, the top rating in the FSC frame, with a 17.50A rated LO current and a 27.20A maximum output current for loads with occasional overload peaks. The built-in braking chopper lets a braking resistor connect directly without a separate module, and because the module is unfiltered, an external EMC filter is needed where conducted-emission limits apply. Choose this variant over a lower 3kW/2.2kW FSC unit when the driven motor's continuous current exceeds roughly 13.6A LO or 10.4A HO.

Applications

Used as the power stage of a SINAMICS G120 modular drive together with a matching Control Unit for pumps, fans, and conveyor motors on a 200-240V supply. Requires Control Unit firmware V4.6 or later; rated for -10 to 40C at low overload and -10 to 50C at high overload.
