Nine supported thermocouple types on one module cover most industrial TC wiring without matching a type-specific part at order time, and internal cold-junction compensation removes the need for an external reference junction in most installations - switch to the external compensation socket only where ambient temperature at the terminal block itself drifts enough to bias the reading.
