Selection Notes
This module reads both 24-48V DC and 24-48V AC field signals on the same terminals (P-reading), so it fits machines where AC limit switches and DC proximity sensors share one I/O rack instead of needing separate DC-only and AC-only modules. Its own encoder supply is fused at 2A/250V per group of outputs, so a shorted sensor cable blows the module's internal fuse rather than pulling down the ET 200SP backplane supply. Choose the 24V DC sourcing-only DI 8x variant instead when every field device on the station is a standard 24V DC sensor, since it needs less input filtering and no AC threshold margin.
Applications
Suited to retrofit panels and machines with mixed-voltage field wiring - AC limit switches on older equipment alongside newer 24V DC sensors - where one ET 200SP DI module needs to read both without rewiring the field side.
