The extra 2 DRIVE-CLiQ ports over the D425-2 DP - 6 against 4 - let this STANDARD-class unit address more directly connected SINAMICS S120 drive modules before needing a DMC20/DME20 expansion, and the RAM work memory rises to 109 Mbyte from 78 Mbyte to support the larger axis count. Choose the D435-2 DP over the D425-2 DP once the application needs more than 16 axes, up to this unit's 32-axis ceiling, while the two share the same 0.5 ms minimum servo cycle clock and 24 V DC supply footprint. Integrated drive control still tops out at 6 servo or 6 vector axes regardless of the higher total axis count, so axes beyond that run through external SINAMICS Control Units.
