Because the TR80D3R8002TPE is the remote-operated (TR) version, it has no built-in TPC controller: the transfer logic and I/O live in an external controller, so it suits installations that already standardise on one controller platform across several switches. The front panel carries a rotary display module for local control and setting via a rotary/dip switch, so commissioning does not depend on the remote controller being present. The 3P version switches the three phase conductors, so it is the lower-cost choice for 3-wire distribution. The 800 A rating on the 800 A frame suits life-safety loads such as fire-fighting equipment, smoke extract fans, sprinkler pumps and emergency lighting, where the switch must carry the full load current continuously after a transfer.
