The TM241CE24R's embedded Ethernet port adds Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, FTP, and OPC UA server connectivity that transistor-only, non-Ethernet M241 base units lack, making it the base unit of choice where the controller needs to sit on a plant network rather than communicate over serial links alone. Its 6 relay outputs (2 A, up to 250 V AC) switch contactor coils and pilot loads directly without an interposing relay, while the 4 transistor outputs (4 fast, 100 kHz PLS) still support basic pulse-train positioning where the relay outputs cannot. The 100-240 V AC supply removes the need for a separate 24 V DC power supply in panels already running on line voltage.
