Schneider Electric METSECT5HP080 PowerLogic HP Type 800/5 A Class 1 44mm Current Transformer

The Schneider Electric METSECT5HP080 is a PowerLogic Type HP split-core current transformer for cable mounting, ratio 800/5 A, Class 1 accuracy at 5 VA. It clips around a cable up to 44 mm diameter without opening the circuit, supplying a standard 5 A secondary to a power meter or protection relay on a 800 A feeder.

Selection Notes

The METSECT5HP080 clamps onto a cable up to 44 mm diameter for a 800 A feeder without breaking the conductor, which is the main reason to pick a HP split-core type over a solid-core busbar transformer. Class 1 accuracy covers general-purpose metering and protection-relay current input, where billing-grade precision is not required. Choose the next current rating in the HP series if the measured feeder load exceeds 800 A, since the window size stays the same across the family.

Applications

The clip-on HP body lets a panel builder add the METSECT5HP080 to an existing 800 A cable run during a metering or protection upgrade, without disconnecting the conductor or shutting down the circuit to fit the transformer.
