This N-rated 50 kA ETU variant trades the TM-D's fixed magnetic trip for a fully adjustable L-S-I curve: long-time Ir 0.25...1 x In (157.5-630 A) sets the overload point, short-time Isd 1.5...10 x Ir (236-6300 A) lets the breaker ride through brief downstream faults for selective coordination, and instantaneous Ii 1.5...10 x In (945-6300 A) handles close-in short-circuits. That Isd stage is the main reason to choose the ETU over the TM-D on this frame — it buys a short-time delay window a fixed trip unit cannot offer. Within the 630 A ETU line, move to the 70 kA H-rated TM-D frame instead if the installation needs more raw breaking capacity rather than curve flexibility.
