C634500D1S has no trip unit — it switches and isolates the DC circuit on command but does not provide overcurrent protection, so it is specified alongside a DC moulded case circuit breaker or DC fuse for fault clearing, not in place of one. The 500 A Ie at 1000 V DC and DC-22A utilisation category make it suited to PV combiner or string-inverter isolation points where frequent on-load switching is expected. Its 6 kA Icw / Icm rating sets the upstream protective device's let-through limit for coordinated protection.
