The Schneider Electric C100N42AFM is a 4-pole, 1000 A ComPacT NS1000N moulded case circuit breaker rated for 50 kA breaking capacity (Icu) at 380/415 V AC. Fixed-mounted and manually operated, it carries a MicroLogic 2.0 A electronic trip unit delivering long-time overload and instantaneous short-circuit protection, and is rated up to 690 V AC for standard-breaking-capacity distribution duty in the ComPacT NS630b...1600 new generation line.

Selection Notes

The N-frame classification gives the C100N42AFM 50 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC, sized for standard distribution duty on the 1000 A frame; where fault levels run higher, the H-frame version of the same frame size delivers a higher Icu without a change in footprint. Its MicroLogic 2.0 A trip unit covers long-time overload and instantaneous protection only (LI), with no short-time delay stage — choose a 5.0 (LSI) or 6.0 (LSIG) trip unit from this same frame where selective coordination with downstream breakers is required. The A suffix adds a digital LCD screen with an RMS ammeter, giving it a local current readout without a separate meter. With 4 poles and a neutral protection setting adjustable between 0.5× Ir (3D + N/2) and 1× Ir (4D), it suits TN-S or TT systems that need their own neutral overload protection; the 3-pole version of the same frame is for 3-phase-only loads.
