Selection Notes

The MicroLogic 6.0 trip unit on the C100N360FM is configured for overload (L), short-time delayed short-circuit (S), instantaneous (I) and ground-fault (G) protection. Stacking G (ground-fault) on top of L-S-I gives this trip unit adjustable earth-fault tripping as well as time-graded short-circuit discrimination, useful on solidly grounded systems that would otherwise need a separate earth-fault relay. In the NS1000 case size, this N-frame breaker is the standard breaking capacity option (50 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC); the H-frame (70 kA Icu) and the L-frame (150 kA Icu) versions share the same case and accessories but trade breaking capacity for cost or vice versa. The A- and E-suffix trip units in the same frame add an ammeter or energy meter respectively, for installations that want local metering without extra hardware. As a 3-pole unit it protects the three phases only; the 4-pole version of the same frame adds switched or protected neutral handling.
