Schneider Electric BMXP3420102 Modicon M340 Processor 1024 I/O Modbus CANopen Programmable Logic Controller

The Schneider Electric BMXP3420102 is a Modicon M340 processor module (Modbus and CANopen concept) supporting up to 4 racks, 1024 discrete and 256 analog I/O points, and an integrated CANopen master bus for up to 63 slave devices. It adds independent-axis motion control over CANopen alongside the same RS232C/RS485 serial and USB ports as the base M340 CPU.

Selection Notes

The BMXP3420102 adds an integrated CANopen master bus (up to 63 slave devices, 20 kbit/s-1 Mbit/s) and independent-axis motion control on top of the same Modbus/RS232C/RS485/USB connectivity as the BMXP342000 - pick it over the Modbus-only CPU when the machine needs CANopen I/O or servo/motion slaves on the same bus. It shares the same 4-rack, 1024 discrete / 256 analog I/O capacity as the base M340 CPU, so the extra fieldbus comes without giving up local I/O headroom, at the cost of a slightly higher 90 mA current draw at 24 V DC.
