- Description
The Schneider Electric BMXCPS3500 is a Modicon X80 power supply module that converts a 100-240 V AC single-phase primary supply into the 24 V DC and 3.3 V DC secondary rails a Modicon M340 or M580 rack needs to run. It is rated 36 W nominal secondary power, with 31.2 W available on the 24 V DC I/O-and-processor rail and a maximum power dissipation of 8.5 W.

Selection Notes
The BMXCPS3500 supplies 31.2 W on the 24 V DC I/O-and-processor rail from a 100-240 V AC line — roughly double the smaller AC-input variant's rating — so it fits racks with a higher module count or heavier analog I/O load. Its separate 21.6 W 24 V DC sensor rail (0.9 A) lets field sensors draw power independently of the I/O/processor rail, so a sensor-side short does not starve backplane logic. Choose the smaller AC-input variant instead when the rack's total I/O/processor draw stays under 16.8 W; oversizing the power supply adds no functional benefit.
