- Description
The Schneider Electric ATVRU75N4 is an Altivar regenerative unit that returns braking energy from a variable speed drive back to the AC supply instead of dissipating it as heat. Its continuous rated power is 6.8 kW (the 7.5 kW class figure covers transient duty), on a 380-500 V AC input with a built-in EMC filter to IEC 61800-3. It is compatible with the ATV320, ATV340 and ATV900 drive ranges for heavy-braking duty such as hoisting and material handling.

Selection Notes
The 7.5 kW class rating names the transient braking capacity; the continuous rating that sizes the regenerative unit for duty-cycle calculations is 6.8 kW, so pair it against a drive's actual braking energy profile rather than its class name alone. It fits ATV320, ATV340 and ATV900 drives that need energy recovery instead of a braking resistor, which matters on hoists, cranes and other applications with frequent, high-inertia deceleration. Above 60 s of transient braking the input current derates from the 22.9 A / 380 V figure toward the 16.5 A continuous rating, so duty cycles beyond that window should be checked against the continuous current, not the transient one.
