- Description
The Siemens 6ES7422-1BL00-0AA0 SIMATIC S7-400 SM 422 module packs 32 isolated 24 V DC digital outputs rated 0.5 A each into one module slot for high channel density. Short-circuit protection trips between 0.75 and 1.5 A, and two outputs can be paralleled either to uprate current or for redundant load control. Rated current derates above 40 degrees C.

Selection Notes
With 32 channels at 0.5 A each in the same module footprint, this variant trades per-channel current for I/O density – choose it over a higher-current, lower-channel-count module when driving many small 24 V DC loads (indicator lamps, small relays, PLC-to-PLC signaling) rather than motor starters that need more current per channel. Parallel switching of two outputs is supported both for uprating current and for redundancy, so two channels can be combined to exceed the 0.5 A single-channel rating. Current derates from 4 A total up to 40°C to 2 A per 8 adjacent outputs above 40°C – plan channel loading around that group boundary.
