- Description
The Siemens 6ES7422-1BH11-0AA0 SIMATIC S7-400 SM 422 module provides 16 isolated digital outputs rated 24 V DC, 2 A per channel, with electronic short-circuit protection tripping between 2.8 and 6 A. Outputs are grouped in isolated blocks of 8, and two outputs in the same group can be paralleled for redundant control of one load. Rated current derates above 40 degrees C.

Selection Notes
Rated 2 A per channel with a 2.8-6 A short-circuit trip threshold, this module suits solenoids and small motor starters switched directly from 24 V DC. Current derates from 3 A total up to 40°C to 2 A per pair of adjacent outputs above 40°C, so channel loading and cabinet temperature both matter at full load. Parallel outputs can be wired for redundant control of one load (same group only), not for uprating current – use a higher-current output module instead if a single load exceeds 2 A. Groups of 8 isolated channels keep 24 V DC output circuits separate from the backplane and from each other in blocks.
