At 330 A / 315 kW, this is the first IP00 rating in the range, moving from the enclosed IP20 design used below 260 A to an open chassis; specify it once load current exceeds what the 260 A IP20 module can carry. IP00 means this is an open chassis: it relies entirely on the control cabinet for ingress protection and on the cabinet's forced-air duct for cooling, rather than carrying any enclosure of its own. Because the supply section is a 6-pulse design without power recovery, braking energy from the driven load cannot be fed back to the 660-690 V line; it has to be dissipated through a braking resistor or absorbed by a regenerative unit elsewhere in the line-up, not by this module. It ships as the power stage only, with the CIM board and Drive-CLiQ cable fitted but no control module, so a SINAMICS control unit has to be ordered and connected separately before the drive can run a motor. The Drive-CLiQ cable is Siemens' point-to-point digital link between the power module and the control unit, carrying parameter and diagnostic data over a single cable instead of discrete analog wiring.
