The Siemens 6RA8098-4DV62-0AA0 is a SINAMICS DCM armature converter for four-quadrant DC drives, using a (B6)A(B6)C anti-parallel thyristor bridge pair with a D420/3000 field rectifier. It takes a 400 V 3AC supply at up to 2490 A controllable and delivers 420 V DC at up to 3000 A to the motor armature, covering motoring and regenerative braking in both directions of rotation.

The second anti-parallel bridge in the (B6)A(B6)C configuration reverses armature current without a contactor, so this converter fits reversing duty such as cranes, hoists, and mill drives needing motoring and regenerative braking in both directions of rotation. At 3000 A it is the highest-current unit in the D420 four-quadrant family, above the 2000 A version, for the largest reversing DC motor loads on the same 400 V 3AC supply. Drives that only ever run one direction can use the lighter two-quadrant B6C converter instead.
